Regulations of the competition sections

Already in mid-October we shall find out which titles are going to be presented during the 21st edition of the Forum of European Cinema ORLEN Cinergia in two competition sections. These sections are obviously the Polish Debuts and European Debuts. The novelty during this edition is the fact, that not only the directorial debuts are going to be admitted for the competition, but also second feature films made by the young, promising creators. We would like to invite you to read the Regulations of the 21st Forum of European Cinema ORLEN Cinergia.

REGULATIONS OF THE BEST POLISH DEBUT AND SECOND FILM COMPETITION 

21st FORUM OF EUROPEAN CINEMA ORLEN CINERGIA ŁÓDŹ 25.11- 02.12.2016

 1. In order to support and promote ambitious, valuable, original and interesting artistic explorations among Polish film directors, the award for the Best Polish Debut and Second Film is established.
 
2. The award is granted once a year, during the Forum of European Cinema ORLEN Cinergia.
 
3. The winners receive diplomas and statuettes.
 
4. The competition accepts films of debutants, graduates and students of Polish film schools. We also allow the participation in the competition of the first and second film by the students of foreign universities and the debuts executed as an international co-productions, under the condition that their directors have Polish citizenship.
 
5. Only the film, which execution was finished within 18 months preceding the session of the jury, can be awarded.
 
6. The directorial debut,  within the meaning of these Regulations, is considered as the first and second full-length feature film meant for the theatrical distribution. 
 
7. Candidates for the competitions can be submitted by the concerned creators, producers and film schools and institutions, within the deadline i.e. 10 October 2016. The selection committee shall select the best, in their opinion, pictures from among the submitted films. The number is limited to 10 films.

8. The selection committee and the artistic and program director, can invite to the competition films acknowledged by the organisers as valuable and important. 

9. The results of selection shall be announced on the official web page of the festival at cinergiafestival.pl

 10. The Crystal Apple award is granted by the Jury nominated by the professionals, outstanding  Polish directors, cinematographers, producers, actors, scriptwriters, distributors, critics, directors and selectors of film festivals.

 

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION IN THE BEST POLISH DEBUT COMPETITION

Screeners of films (with English subtitles) together with the information including Polish and, if applicable, English title of the film, particulars of the director, producer, scriptwriter, cinematographer, editor and leading actors should be provided no later than 10 October 2016. We also would like to ask you to state the duration of the film and the carrier on which the copy is going to be delivered. Submissions and screeners should be sent to the following address:

REGULATIONS OF THE BEST EUROPEAN DEBUT AND SECOND FILM COMPETITION 

21st FORUM OF EUROPEAN CINEMA ORLEN CINERGIA ŁÓDŹ 25.11- 02.12.2016

 

 1 . Competition for the Best European Debut is dedicated to the feature full-length films of European film directors. The directorial debut,  within the meaning of these Regulations, is considered as the first and second full-length feature film meant for the theatrical distribution.

 2. European film director means someone born in the European country or who holds a nationality of such country. The above mentioned country does not have to be a EU Member State.

3.  The film qualified for the contest should be of European production, but it can also be created as a result of international co-production, with the major share of the European co-producer.

4.  In order to support and promote ambitious, valuable, original and interesting artistic explorations of young European film directors, the award for the Best European Debut is established.

5. The award in form of the Crystal Boat statuette is granted once a year, during the Forum of European Cinema ORLEN Cinergia.

6. The winners receive diplomas, statuettes and cash prize.

7. Only the film, which execution was finished within 24 months preceding the session of the jury, can be awarded.

8. Candidates for the competitions can be submitted by the concerned creators themselves, producers and film institutions, within the deadline i.e. 10 October 2016. The selection committee shall select the best, in their opinion, pictures from among the submitted films. The number is limited to 10 films.
