The 48th edition of the Sitges Film Festival, which kicked off on October 9, will last until Sunday. The festival has been held in Catalonia, Spain since 1968. Each year it attracts huge crowds of fantasy, horror and thriller films. This year the festival’s program includes, among others, Sebastian Schipper’s Victoria and Jaco Van Dormael’s The Brand New Testament, which will also be presented during the 20th edition of the Forum of European Cinema ORLEN Cinergia. One of the films awarded in Sitges last year will also be shown in Łódź this year. It’s Goodnight Mommy by Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala, which in Sitges received the critics award. We would like to remind that Goodnight Mommy as well as The Brand New Testament are candidates for Oscar nominations in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
